HALIFAX — Manga Hotels has almost completed a $17 million renovation of the 238-room Atlantica Hotel in downtown Halifax. “The hotel was an older property that needed work. It was an extensive renovation — not just lipstick here and there,” Sukhdev Toor, president and CEO of Manga Hotels told CLN.
Manga Hotels acquired the site at 689 King Street West in May, 2019 and have now tabled their own vision for the property, consisting of a pair of 13 and 18-storey buildings designed by Sweeny &Co Architects.
TORONTO — Manga Hotels is the largest private owner of hotels in Atlantic Canada, with 11 of its 18 properties located in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and New Brunswick. Needless to say, they were heartened by the July 4 announcement if the “Atlantic Bubble,” which permits travel among the four Atlantic provinces without the need for a 14-day quarantine.
Mississauga's own Manga Hotels has filed a development application with the City of Toronto to build two connected, mid-rise hotel towers "of contemporary architectural design" between Richmond and Camden Streets, just west of Spadina Avenue.
