When Jolanta Lukus of Royal Design first saw the Travelodge Toronto Airport in late 2016, she felt it was a great space that was poorly utilized, and somewhat outdated. Her goals in redesigning the hotel for Manga Hotels were to bring a wow factor to the property, create a destination arrival, fit into todays times and make it noticeable among its surrounding competitors — both unique and different.
MISSISSAUGA — From humble beginnings in 1986, when the Toor family acquired its first small hotel in St. Catharines, Ont., Manga Hotels has grown to include 16 hotels, with another one being acquired this month in Buffalo, N.Y., a Hilton Garden Inn now under construction, a Hyatt Place Toronto Airport in the pipe, and three downtown Toronto properties planned over the next few years.
